Gods Temple - YOU?

1 Corinthinians 3:1-17 "Dont you know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him; for the temple of God is Holy, which temple you are."

I was reading this scripture a lil while ago and it made me realize ALOT of things that I think I had forgotten about. I realized that Im not in control of even my own life, because really...my life isnt my own. no matter how hard I try to claim ownership of it. And I am a temple of Gods Spirit, all believers are, and God says that His temple is Holy...meaning...we are Holy.

That doesnt mean that we cant defile the temple tho and mess it up, cuz we are not perfect. Holy yes, perfect no. Whenever we sin, no matter what it is...we are doing it in the presence of Gods own Spirit and the angels that are around us. We are FAR from being alone and in secret. When we think "no one will ever know"... God already does cuz He is right there with you as you are contemplating it, and as you do it.

We are grieving the Holy Spirit by making Him dwell in a defiled, filthy temple, instead of the pure one that He is desireing. Have you been messing up His dwelling place and not making any effort to clean it up for Him?  Or have you forgotten that Gods temple (the believer) is standing on Holy ground and we cant just cover His eyes when we wanna do our own thing. Its so amazing when Christians  understand the truth of WHO we are IN CHRIST.

God has conquered death

"There are two kinds of death—the cessation of life here on earth, and the missed opportunity to live in heaven with God forever. To die physically is to leave our earthly body and our place in the earthly community. To die spiritually, eternally, is to miss eternal residence in heaven with God and his people, to be separated from God forever.

When we die physically, we can be even more alive as we take up residence in God's eternal home with him and his people. It is not pleasant to think of dying physically. But it is devastating to think of missing heaven forever.

"In that day he will remove the cloud of gloom, the shadow of death that hangs over the earth. He will swallow up death forever! The Sovereign Lord will wipe away all tears. He will remove forever all insults and mockery against his land and people. The Lord has spoken!

Isaiah 25:7-8 NLT

There are many rooms in my Father's home, and I am going to prepare a place for you. If this were not so, I would tell you plainly.
John 14:2 NLT

Jesus told her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die like everyone else, will live again."
John 11:25 NLT

Have you known the comfort of God's presence?

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.… Be silent, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world. The Lord Almighty is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress.

Psalm 46:1,10-11 NLT

There is a place of quiet rest near to the heart of God, A place where sin cannot molest, near to the heart of God.

O Jesus, blest Redeemer, sent from the heart of God, Hold us who wait before Thee near to the heart of God.

There is a place of full release near to the heart of God, A place where all is joy and peace, near to the heart of God.

This is NOT a secret to be kept!!!

John 3:16-21
For God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son so that anyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.  God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.There is no eternal doom awaiting those who trust him to save them.  But those who dont trust him have already been tried and condemned for not believing in the only Son of God.  Their sentence is based on this fact: that the light from Heaven came into the world, but they loved the darkness more than the Light, for thier deeds were evil.  They hated the heavenly Light because they wanted to sin in the darkness.  They stayed away from the Light for fear their sins would be exposed and they would be punished.  But those doing right come gladly to the Light to let everyone see that they are doing what God wants them to.

John 3:31-36
Jesus has come from heaven and is greater than anyone else.  I am of the earth, and my understanding is limited to the things of earth.  He tells what He has seen and heard, but how few believe what He tells them!  Those who believe Him discover that God is a fountain of truth.  For this one - sent by God - speaks Gods words, for God's Spirit is upon Him without measure or limit.  The Father loves this Man because He is His Son, and God has given Him everything there is.  And all who trust Him - Gods Son - to save them have eternal life; those who dont believe and obey Him shall never see heaven, but the wrath of God remains upon them.

HOW TO KNOW JESUS

Did you know that you were created to have a loving relationship with God? He is patiently and lovingly waiting for you to respond to His invitation to salvation. Yes, you can receive forgiveness for your sins and assurance of eternal life through faith in His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. "God so loved the world (YOU) that He gave His only begotten Son (JESUS), that whoever (YOU) believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved" (John 3:16-17). "Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent" (John 17:3).

You may be asking yourself: "How can I know God?" Man is able to know the true and living God through His Word (that is, the Bible). The Bible reveals God's character and His plan for mankind. It is through reading His Word that we come to a knowledge of the righteousness of God and that which He requires of us.

What is it that prevents us from personally knowing God? Our sin has separated us from God — our corruption is to such a degree that we cannot know Him personally and cannot experience His love. God's Word says, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Man was created to have fellowship with God, but because of his sin (i.e., anything that is against the righteousness revealed in God's Law) he is prevented from that fellowship. This includes anything less than perfect obedience to God's commands.

"The wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23a). The ultimate result of this death is an eternity in Hell. This spiritual death forces a separation from God. Man is sinful and God is holy. This creates a gulf unbridgeable by man making that intended fellowship impossible. The only solution is a divine bridge — that bridge is Christ.

God created a way by sending His Son to pay the price for our sin. "God demonstrated His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). He died in our place; He who knew no sin became sin for us. This removed our burden of sin and allows us to enter into that desired fellowship if we follow His way.

He is the only way. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6).

It is not just enough that you know these truths. We must individually place our trust in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It is by repenting of our sins and believing on Christ that we can know God personally and experience His love.

"But as many as receive Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name" (John 1:12).
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:8-10).
"Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins" (Acts 2:38).
You can receive Jesus Christ right now by faith. "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation" (Romans 10:9-10).

If you now believe on God and place your faith in His Son, congratulations — and welcome to His family. We, all being His children, share in a heavenly inheritance! We are heirs to heaven and are promised the eternal pleasure of glorifying God. As our life here on earth progresses, God will continue to work in our hearts. We are daily being conformed to the image of Christ, Himself. We will begin to live lives of righteousness. Obedience to God will not be a burden to us, but rather a joy.

You may wonder, now that you are a Christian, "What now?" Our greatest recommendation for believers, new and old, is fourfold: 1) find a church so you might hear the preaching of the Word and rejoice in the fellowship of other Christians, 2) study the Bible for that is where we learn of God and His plans, 3) pray to Him to strengthen your faith and increase your love toward Him, and 4) enjoy the blessings given by God in the heavenly ordained sacraments: baptism and the Lord's Supper. All of these will work to encourage and build upon your faith. If you have any questions, search the Scriptures, ask your Pastor, or please feel free to ask us.
